WHAT IS KRAV MAGA?

Self-Defense System / Fighting System

Krav Maga, Hebrew for “contact combat”, created by Imi Lichtenfeld and is the official self-defense and hand-to-hand combat system of Israel. Krav Maga is a very practical style of self-defense and is used by several renowned special forces around the World, to train soldiers and civilians to become efficient in a short amount of time.

Krav Maga is an aggressive, anti-terrorist survival system without rules. It deals with personal safety issues in the context of defending against both armed and unarmed attackers with only one objective: to eliminate the threat in the fastest way possible.

  • Counterattacking as soon as possible (or attacking preemptively).

  • Targeting attacks to the body’s most vulnerable points.

  • Maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Maintaining awareness of surroundings.

WHY KRAV MAGA?

  • PRACTICAL AND INTUITIVE

All techniques are built upon the body’s natural instincts. Martial arts are strongly based in ritual and as a result, often incorporate strange techniques. Krav is different, efficiency is the only concern. For this reason, many of the strikes and defenses utilize the same basic motion

  • IT’S NOT A MARTIAL ART

Krav Maga was designed to be utilized against street attacks, muggings and sexual assaults. Krav Maga isn’t about being a tough guy, it’s not about learning how to fight in a ring, it’s about going home alive no matter what the situation is. There are no rules or illegal moves.

  • IT’S A GREAT EXERCISE

Between the drills themselves and the conditioning, you are guaranteed a hell of a workout. Three minutes of throwing punches or knee strikes is exhausting. So is three minutes of burpees.
Even diehard fitness enthusiasts will likely discover moves they haven’t seen before.

  • IT’S A VERY REWARDING HOBBY

First, you have no idea how to throw a proper punch. After a couple weeks, you realize that you just started learning the basics. After a few months, you look back and you feel rewarded for the progress you made. Experiencing this progress is extremely satisfying.
