DIFFERENT SCENARIOS
HAND TO HAND COMBAT
Sparring is as real as it gets. It’s that simple. Sparring requires you to use every one of your attributes – forcing you to sharpen your skills and practice things like the controlling distance, timing, speed, agility and focus as well as cardiovascular and muscle endurance to name just a few.
On the street anything can happen, so we’ll teach you how to punch, kick and use pressure points. You will learn how to fight standing or on the floor… basically, how to survive.
DEFENCE AGAINST WEAPONS ATTACKS/THREATS (guns, knives, sticks, etc.)
“Why should I even address this issue?” I will never fight a knife or a gun attacker.”
The answer is that sometimes giving up without a fight is not an option. Sometimes you have no choice. Sometimes you can’t run away from this weapon. What if they want to take your kids away? Or your spouse? What if you are on a plane and there is no one else in a position to fight back? What if you are the only person strong enough to confront the assailant?
AGAINST CHOKES, GRABS, BEAR-HUGS, TAKE-DOWNS…
Remaining aware of the surroundings during the combat or in a threat situation so as to be able to find additional escape routes, efficient attacks, surrounding objects which could be used for defending or offending, to name a few. But sometimes you simply can’t.
That way you will learn how to attack highly vulnerable parts of the body namely the eyes, face, neck or throat, groin, knee, solar plexus, ribs, fingers and foot.
MULTIPLE ATTACKERS
There are many common mistakes in some martial arts schools when training against multiple attackers, most of them are related to not keeping it real, mainly the attackers fail to function as in real life situations. The attackers have a tendency to cooperate with defenders and time their attacks to the convenience of the defender. Also, there are many training situations in which the defender knows exactly what the attacker is going to do and when.
